Milan / Gianfranco Ferre Ready-To-Wear Fall/Winter 2012/13 (fashion show and interview)

Stefano Citron and Federico Piaggi, the recent duo at the head of the Gianfranco Ferre house presented on the runway a collection inspired by Helmut Newton’s photographs of woman’s portraits. Resulting in coats wrapped in cashmere and enveloping dresses in leather, with tints of monochrome. For the evening, shiny touches with gold or silver short quilted dresses, and long sheath gowns with asymmetrical and architectural cuts.

Stefano Citron and Federico Piaggi : The look that we created is very close to the image of Helmut Newton. Quilting is a study that we did on materials and especially on fabrics that are a little puffy but rigid. The result is to have something very light because it's important to want to buy it. Metal is very important for the result because it will add a richness effect.
